TOP FIVE FINISH FOR HART IN CZECH REPUBLIC

Josh Hart

Top New Zealand karter Josh Hart enjoyed another good showing at the third round of this year's Rotax Max Euro Challenge at Sosnova in the Czech Republic over the weekend of 26/27 July finishing fifth overall.

Hart was upbeat but also just a little bit disappointed about his performance at the round. On the one hand he made everyone sit up and take notice when he set the third quickest time (out of a field of 75) in qualifying. However on the other he had to make do with a back-up engine in the races after his best engine seized during the warm-up session before the first heat.

Despite that handicap he won three of his four heats and was looking good for a top grid position in the Final only to be penalised for allegedly jumping the start in one of the heats (the one in which he beat eventual round winner Christopher Lock!) and relegated to eighth spot on the grid.

Despite that the young Kiwi got a great start and made the most of overnight chassis changes to get as high as fourth in the Final before crossing the finish line in fifth place.
