Dixon Finishes Second at the Milwaukee Mile

Kiwi and Black Bullet Scott Dixon has finished second behind Australian Ryan Briscoe at the Milwaukee Mile today.

Following 3 DNFS in the first five races this race, Briscoe has got one back for the Aussies following Dixon's win in the last round at the Indy 500.

The race today finished under a yellow flag as a major race accident right in font of the race leaders, with just three laps to go, brought out the safety car. Briscoe managed to avoid Vitor Meira, Marco Andretti and Ed Carpenter who were involved in the incident and Dixon followed Briscoe's lead as they passed through the carnage.

While believing he may have had a shot at winning heading into the last three laps, Dixon gave due congratulations to Briscoe following the race. Dixon indicated they had the speed to catch Briscoe but Briscoe drove smart and made it difficult to pass.

Dixon commented: "We were coming strong but just not enough time."

Dixon's team mate Dan Wheldon finished 4th with Tony Kanaan ahead of him in 3rd place.

Dixon lead for 143 of the 225 laps in the race.

Championship Standings after Milwaukee Mile
1. Scott Dixon 234 pts
2. Helio Castroneves 206
3. Dan Wheldon 185
4. Tony Kanaan 174
5. Danica Patrick 144
8. Ryan Briscoe 134
