Kayne Scott was born with motor racing in his blood. He spent much of his upbringing on the edge of the race track, watching his engineer dad, Terry, make a name for himself in the formative years of New Zealand motor racing.

Most of Kayne’s life has been spent in motor sport, starting off in moto-cross at just 12 years of age. From bikes to karts to saloon cars, Kayne progressed through every class of saloon based motor racing category in New Zealand.

This included, Moto-Cross – Go Karts – Mini Sevens - Group A including the World Touring Car Championship event at Wellington Street Race at age 17. Group N and Laser Sports Cars and then he progressed onto the Tranzam’s.

During this time he made an appearance at Bathurst with the Dick Johnson team and also ran the now infamous Whittakers Peanut Slab Sierra.

From 1991 to 1995 he won 5 New Zealand Tranzam Championships, setting several lap records including the first saloon to break a minute at Pukekohe.

Kayne then took a break from motor racing from 1996 – 2003 to establish his business ‘Fully Equipped Ltd”. On returning to the race track in 2003, he competed in Tranzam in the USA and also won the 2003 Trans Tasman Saloon Series held in Australia and New Zealand.

Kayne is a calculating winner, with a technical understanding and capability to engineer and develop a winning car. In addition to his driving successes he is a hardened businessman and entrepreneur, with a single minded focus on managing the best returns for his sponsors.

Kayne not only delivers on that promise but drives to win. He has an exacting skill, and a hard fought aggression that gives him the winning edge. He has an engineer’s ability and knowledge matched to a race driver’s psyche. He generates enormous respect amongst his team for his detailed accuracy.

He has always put a huge focus on his mental and physical fitness, he runs and undertakes a rigorous gym session each day, I also swim most days. This is supported by a good nutritional programme designed with racing in mind.

This was his third season in the V8 Touring Car Class in New Zealand, all with Holden, 2003/4 season we finished 5th overall and in 2004/5 season we finished 4th overall. And in recent times 2nd overall in the 2005/6 season. We scored a number of race wins throughout both seasons.

With his passion for the sport and success credentials, Kayne has the focus and determination to succeed.
